The Golden Key

You suddenly find yourself standing outside of a glowing, golden portal. You look at it carefully and notice a slot for a key, but you don't have a key that would activate the portal and return you home. You are in a strange, unknown land. Towards the west is a cottage, and to the east is an apple tree. [[Cottage]] [[Apple tree]]

You are outside of a cottage beside of a swiftly-flowing river. You look to the west, across the river, and see a mountain. At the top of the mountain is a golden glow. [[Apple tree]] [[Boat dock]] [[East side of rickety bridge]] [[Swimming]]

The apple tree is full of ripe, beautiful apples. [[In the apple tree]] [[Cottage]]

You are at the dock which contains many boats. The boats are bouncing up and down the waves of a flowing river. [[Rocky shore]] [[Cottage]]

You are on the east side of a rickety bridge. The bridge looks like it is ready to fall apart. A sign next to the bridge says *Weight Limit 100*, which is approximately how much you weigh. [[Cottage]] [[West side of rickety bridge]] [[The Portal home]] [[Swimming]]

You are on the west side of a rickety bridge. The bridge looks like it is ready to fall apart. A sign next to the bridge says *Weight Limit 100*, which is approximately how much you weigh. [[East side of rickety bridge]] [[Trailhead up the mountain]] [[Swimming]]

You are at the start of a trail that leads up a mountain. A sign says *Summit elevation 1000*. Looking at the top of the mountain, you see a golden glow. (set: $elevation to 0) [[Up the mountain trail]] [[Rocky shore]] [[West side of rickety bridge]]

You reach a rocky shoreline. Fragments of broken boats lash against the rocks. The rocks prevent you from proceeding to the north. [[Trailhead up the mountain]] [[Swimming]]

You are at the top of the mountain. You see what is causing the golden glow - it is a shining, golden key. [[Trailhead up the mountain]] [[The Portal]]

You are climbing the apple tree, but you lose your grip and fall to your death. [[The Portal]]

You reach the golden portal. There is a slot for key. You place the key into the slot and turn it.... You wake up in your own bedroom. Was it all just a dream? Looking down at the floor, you ask yourself, "Where did that backpack come from?" [b]THE END[/b]

You jump into the swiftly flowing river. The water is very cold, and the river very fast. You are unable to keep your head above the water, and you drown. [[The Portal]]
